- was only for during term times, children did not get free meals during holidays

- Many illnesses were being identified so this gave the opportunity for treatment that they would not have got if they did not know about the illness.

- they received treatment so they were able o get back to work quickly

- in many cases the benefits were not sufficient for full families

- very effective in finding people jobs
- EVIDENCE- By 1914 around 3000 people were finding jobs everyday

-Many children who would have usually had to have went without this meal would no longer be hungry and would be more likely to focus in class

- It was compulsory so no one in the trades it covered were missed out
- If unemployed the insured would receive 7 shillings a week for 15 weeks

- Only covered some trades so many were missed out and had no unemployment insurance at all
- the payment only lasted 15 weeks so would no longer get the benefits if we’re unemployed for over 15 weeks
