Paracetamol
A
1 g oral/PR/IV QID (IV only if cannot tolerate oral and PR)

Ibuprofen
A
400 mg oral TDS (avoid if renal impairment, GI bleeding and/or elderly)

Indomethacin
A
50-100 mg PR BD (avoid if renal impairment, GI bleeding and/or elderly)

Morphine

2.5-5 mg subcut/IV 2-3 hourly PRN

Oxycodone (Endone)
A
Immediate release
5-10 mg oral 4-6 hourly PRN
Reduce dose and frequency if renal impairment, elderly or airways disease

Oxycodone (Oxycontin)
A
Slow release
10 mg oral BD
Chart with aperients
(Targin = oxycodone + naloxone (reduced constipation))

Hyoscine (Buscopan)
A
20-40 mg oral/IV/IM QID PRN (for colicky abdominal pain)
