Q

Adavntages and Disadvantages of ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION

A

Advantage:
-Muscles can release energy for a short period when oxygen is not available e.g 100m sprint.

Disadvantage:

  • Lactic Acid is released which is harmful to the body. (Can cause cramp)
  • Not suitable for long amounts of exercise e.g long distance running

Q

What is oxygen debt?

A

Breathing deeply after finishing exercise, to get oxygen to the muscle, breaking down lactic acid to water and carbon dioxide.
