How is Anaemia caused?
Lack of iron present, meaning there will be less blood cells in body
Function of iron
Produces red blood cells needed to help store and carry oxygen in blood
Symptoms of anaemia
• Dizziness
• low blood pressure
• heart attack
• chest pain
• rapid heart rate
C.H.D symptoms
• Chest pain
• shortness of breath
• feeling sick (nausea)
C.H.D dietary causes
• Diet high in saturated fats
• high cholesterol
• too much salt= hbp
CHD lifestyle
• Smoking
• Not enough exercise
• Depression
• Substance use
Dental Carries
Dental caries is damage to a tooth caused by dental plaque turning sugars into acid.
SYMPTOMS OF DENTAL CARIES
• toothache
• tooth sensitivity – you may feel tenderness or pain when eating or drinking something hot, cold or sweet
• grey, brown or black spots appearing on your teeth
• bad breath
Causes of h.b.p
• being overweight
• too much salt
• not enough fruit and vegetables
• not enough exercise
• too much alcohol
• stress
• over 65
• having a relative with high blood pressure
What can hbp lead to
heart attack
stroke
heart failure
kidney and eye damage
What is obesity?
Body mass index over 25 is considered overweight and over 30 is obese.
LIFESTYLE CAUSES OF OBESITY
• High alcohol consumption
• Lack of exercise
• Increased use of computer games / social media
