Q

Why might the Inspector investigate a suicide?

A

Because there seems to be a lot of reasons, which have driven the victim into suicide. He might
think there’s a crime behind and also because he wants to make the Birling family realize that
they’re responsible for others. A further aspect is the author intention to show, that the whole
story isn’t real.
