Who is Amos?
A
Amos is “just a shepherd” who God calls to be a prophet. (Amos 7:14-15) Amos’ vision as it
relates to Christ is that God will reunite and rebuild the house of David (Amos 9:11-12).
Interestingly, James quotes Amos making it very clear that – with the coming of Jesus and the
inclusion of the Gentiles into the covenant promises of Israel – David’s house is being rebuilt in
Christ. (Acts 15:16-21)
