- primary data: mail survey, epidemiological/screening survey, telephone interview
- secondary data: medicaid, vital statistics, cancer registry

Define prevalence.
A
the number of people in a population who have a given disease at a given point in time; measures the frequency of all current cases of disease (old and new)

A
a measure of the number of lesions/period of time

What is the difference between prevalence and incidence?
A
- prevalence - measures the frequency of all current cases of the disease
- incidence - only measure the numbers of new initial lesions per unit of time
