1- employment, 2-public service, 3- public accommodations, 4- telecommunications, 5- miscellaneous
individual with disability
person with physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activity– selfcare, walking, speaking, breathing, learning, working, performance of manual skills
reasonable accommodation
modifications at job so disable can perform specific job easily
examples: phys accessbile workplace, restructuring job, adjusting work schedule/ hours
undue burden
action necessary to provide reasonable accommodation that woul cause the employer or owner significant difficulty or expense
factors: size of business, nature and cost, risk for others, adverse effect
qualified individual with a disability
perform essential functions of job without or with accommodations
covered entity
examples: employer, agency, or labor organization , state local governments
disability
condition caused by accident, trauma, denetics, disease, which limit mobility, hearing vision, speech or mental function
handicap
physical or attitude constraint that is imposed on a person, regardless of whether that person has a disability, which places person at disadvantage
title 1 ADA
prohibits employer from discriminating against qualified individual on basis of disability alone. (15+ employees)

title 3 ADA
PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS protect persons with disabilities from discrimination related to full equal access to services, facilities, goals, privileges, of any public accommodation by the person who owns leases or operates a site.
which title of ADA requires removal, modification, or alterations of structural barriers ( ramps, widening halls, grab bars)
title 3
which title includes auxiliary services and what do they include?
title 3/4 services/ aids for individuals with impairment.
ex: server read menu, telephone or outlet for hearing impairment (telecommunication device TDD)
what does title 3 not apply to?
exempted entities exempt from title 2 of the civil rights acts of 1964 ( private establishments), religious organizations, and entities of federal govt that are exempt from title 1 and 2

work schedule, job activities, employee reassignment, modification to physical plant, telephone amplifier, large print manuals, elevation of furniture for wheelchair, accessible restrooms, hallways, doorways
during proffer of application phase of employment process, disability related questions, medical history info, and medical examinations are…..?

can you ask employee questions about visible physical characteristics of applicant, present health status, psychiatric history or previous addiction to drugs?
