Republicans believed in ‘laissez Faire’. i.e . That the government should do as little as possible to interfere in people’s every day lives; businessmen should be free to make a profit

America businessman people, such as Henry Ford, were very quick to see the advantages of using the very latest technology to produce goods and the the goods became cheaper. The more goods bought more jobs given.

In the high streets they sold every day things but people who didn’t live near a town you could have things delivered to your door. Also they wanted the consumers to take advantage of the new ‘buy now pay later’ scheme So they pay in small instalments over a period of time.

Manifesting mass production of consumer products. Sound in movies, new materials and how to create them.
Position of America
As the only sold weapons and supplies in the first part of ww1 they became very wealthy and lost of jobs were created at this time. When they did get involved they lost of men but they land wasn’t touched.
Advertisement
The big industries used sophisticated sales and marking techniques to get people to buy their goods. Mass nationwide advertising had been first used during the war to get America’s to support the war efforts.
