A

Enlightenment. People began to value science over faith. They started questioning the authority of Kings and moved towards a democracy.

Cause of the war? (2)

A

Restrictions on American trade. Britain wanted raw goods from America, but didn;t want competition. They introduced the Navigation Act which forced colonies to sell their goods to Britain alone.

Cause of the war? (3)

A

No taxation without representation. Britain introduced the Stamp Act (cost to add stamp to all newspapers, letters wills) and the Quartering Act (tax on the colonies to cover the cost of soldiers). This enraged the colonies.
