A

Under Arnold Benedict’s command the American patriots attacked Quebec. However they were unable to capture it and retreated momentarily when British arrived. Americans inflicted a lot of damage to the British fleet so the British leader Carleton decided to retreat since it was close to winter.

How did Washington defeat Howe?

A

By taking all boats from New Jersey side of the river to Pennsylvania. Their surprise attack on enemy troops in trenton was successful, then he surprised them at Princeton and won. Howe quartered his army in Philadelphia not following through with his plans and ended up losing.

What happened at Saratoga?

A

British General Burgoyne who recaptured Ticonderoga tried breaking through saratoga; however the American sharpshooters were firing from behind trees leading to the British Fleeing. Then the American followed, this went back and forth until Benedict Arnold led his troops to defeat Burgoyne’s troops who surrendered.
