1759 - battle for Quebec, saves american colonists from French invasion
1765 - the stamp act, colonists are forced to pay for protection from the french and indians
1770 - the boston massacre, british troops fire on an unruly crowd killing 5 colonists and tensions increase
1773 - the tea act, enforcing east india company’s monopoly to sell tea to the colonists
dec 1773 - the boston tea party, colonists disguised as mohawks ruin a cargo of tes which would have been heavily taxed
march 1774 - port of boston closed until tea is paid for. tensions increase more
sept 1774 - first continental congress in philadelphia is held against the britsh
apr 1775 - battle of lexington, first shots of war and british troops meet minute men
june 1775 - battle of bunker hill, first battle. untrained minute men hold off trained british troops.
4 july 1776 - declaration of independence by continental congress. now a war for american independence
1777 - valley forge, hard and miserable winter for george washington and his army
1778 - saratoga springs, general burgoyne defeated and the first major american victory
1781 - battle of yorktown, general cornwallis is trapped and war ends with american victory

the colonists had to buy special paper from the British Government which was more expensive to print legal documents, ads, newspapers and even playing cards
What was the Boston Tea Party?
Sons of Liberty protesting the tax on Tea by throwing it into the Boston Harbor. they threw 342 boxes or 18 million cups of tea into the port. the british retaliated by stripping massachusetts of their self governing rights and stationed 4000 troops there to govern the state.

What is guerilla warfare and what was its role in the American Revolution?
guerilla warfare is when there are small groups of irregular soldiers fighting against a larger regular force. it’s role in the american revolution was that it allowed for the colonists to surprise the british and also allowed for them to be quicker than the british forces
