a system of all the permits citizens to play significant part in the governmental process, usually through the election of key public officials
Direct democracy
a system of all the permits citizens to vote directly on laws and policies
Representative Democrac
people vote for representatives who then vote on policy initiatives; as opposed to direct democracy, a form of democracy in which people vote on policy initiatives directly.
Socialism
a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
Communism
advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
