1921 Immigration quota act
Limited 357,000 people per year to enter the US. Also set a quota for how many people could immigrate to the US each year. 3% of the nationality that had been in America in 1921. This favored WASPs greatly.

Put tariffs in imported agricultural goods
1921 Budget and accounting act
Limited government spending and kept taxes low
1922 Fordney-McCumber act
Put tariffs on imported industrial goods
1924 National origins act
Limited 150,000 people per year to enter the US. Reduced the quota to 2% of the nationality in 1890. This favored WASPs even more.
1935 Wagner act
Gave workers the right to join trade unions if they wanted. It banned businesses from discriminating against trade unionists
1935 Social security act
Provided unemployment benefits to workers who lost their jobs. This was paid for by employers and workers
1938 fair labour standards act
Set rules for workers wages and hours. These applied to any business working in more than one state. It set a minimum wage and a maximum working week of 44 hours, plus a 50% increase in pay in doing overtime
1930 Smoot-Hawley tariff act
Increased the tariffs that were already in place by 50%
1973 War Powers act
Made it so the president required the approval of Congress to take action in SE Asia
