11th amendment
The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State.
This amendment established the legal doctrine of “sovereign immunity”, which protects government entities or officers acting in their official capacity from being sued over the performance of their duties.
Responded to Chisolm v Georgia 1793 which did not grant state’s sovereign immunity from being sued in the courts of other states
12 amendment
Constitutional amendment that created a seperate ballot for president and vice president.
13th amendment
abolishes slavery in the U.S.
14th amendment
This amendment declared that all persons born or naturalized in the United States were entitled equal rights regardless of their race, and that their rights were protected at both the state and national levels.
15th amendment
citizens cannot be denied the right to vote because of race, color , or precious condition of servitude
