The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed
3rd Amendment
No soldier shall be quartered in any house in the time of peace
Exception during time of war
4th Amendment
Must have a warrant to do search and seizure, cannot unreasonably search without probable cause or oath or affirmation from a judge
5th Amendment
You don’t have to snitch on yourself (Pleading the 5th)
Cannot be put in double jeopardy
Private property cannot be made to public use without just compensation
6th Amendment
Right to speedy and public trial
Shall be subject to impartial jury in the state/district a crime is committed
Right to be informed of nature and cause of accusation
Should have the right to have witnesses in their favor as well as subject to opposing witnesses
Have the right to a assistance of counsel for legal defence
7th Amendment
Right to a trial by jury in all civil cases (has to be over 20$)
8th Amendment
No cruel, unjust, or weird punishments
No excessive bail or fines
9th Amendment
People’s rights go beyond the constitution
10th Amendment
The federal government only has the rights in the constitution, other powers go to states and people`
11th Amendment
States cannot be sued in a federal court by an individual from another state or foreign country
12th Amendment
President and VP are voted on separately
13th Amendment
Slavery outlawed except for if both parties agree to it as punishment
14th Amendment
Due Process Clause: States cannot take away a persons life, liberty or property without due process
Equal Protection Clause: equal protection of the law
defines citizenship, naturalization and equal protection
15th Amendment
African American right to vote
