A

Smarttext

A

A preconfigured text templates used in various area. (i.e. notes, letters, patient instructions, comments …)
They often have other smarttools embedded in them(Smart lists, links and wildcards)
Smarttext are only created by builders.
Unlike smartphrases, users cannot use all smaertext in all smarttoo-enabled text boxes. This restriction is controlled by functional type(s) assigned to a smartext.
They can be looked up by end users, set up as default options and appear automatically
They are:
* comprehensive and can encompass whole letters and notes.
* created only by builders
* maintained by an appointed group, reviewers responsible for
content
* Use insert smart text field to summon OR can be set up to appear
by default

Smartphrase

A

Are shortcuts to generate text quickly. It is a short phrase that expands into a longer block of text.
It is created by builders AND clinicians and can have other smart tools embedded in them. (i.e. “.POSBACKPAIN”) generate a note related to posterior back pain. The start with a DOT.
They are:
* Less complex than a Smarttext
* created by builders and clinicians
* user phrases are not formally reviewed
* Use the bulter to summon, or type a dot then completion match on the phrases name
* Can be used in any text enabled box
*can contain a smartlink, smartlist or wildcard

A

A

Standing orders have more than one occurrence. These orders can only be performed when they are released. Orders can be release manually (More common in outpatient settings, or automatically, more common in inpatient settings.

A

Orders that will be performed later. These are used if the client has to go to another clinic to have the test performed

Where can you make quick changes to a patient’s medications

A

In the medication and orders section.
You can quickly do re-orders there clicking round arrow for a re-order
click the lightening bolt to change an order (ie: increase a dosage)… note if you increase the medication… the patient will run out sooner as this change is not sent to the pharmacy

The Reason for visit (Chief complaint)
