Selection de grains nobles. Selection of the noble grapes (riesling, gewurztraminer, pinot gris, muscat). The highest classification of a wine in Alsace, these grapes have been infected with botrytis and are considered the wines with the highest level of sugar.
VT means?
Vendange tardive. Late harvest grapes, that produce some of the sweeter wines in alsace. not as sweet as SGN
QGN means?
Quintessence de grains nobles. Not an official designation, but used for the top top top cuvées, where the grapes exceed the minimal level for SGN by far.
