Why Alpine?
DE&I and how it relates to me
What do you know about Alpine?
Investing in software and service companies that are pioneering change, across several verticals showcasing its diversity. Including in the accounting Industry with Ascend, which I feel a connection to because one of their goals is to empower CPAs together being backed by Alpine.
Diversity, and harmonious lives - Just by interviewing for the Future Leaders summit, and its partnership with MLT I know that Alpine is very forthcoming with diversity, I had the opportunity to be in an info session last summer with Alpine, and realize the diversity of the panelists, and it was truly inspiring to see people who looked like me on the call.For harmonious lives, its not every day you that when you look for people in an organization you see their first job, favorite activity, and proud moment, and you can tell that they really pride themselves in their people.
Why private equity?
Interested in the buy side because of its ability to see through every stage in the investment process of the company from its development. For instance, S- Black FWL Summit, introducing us to their Onyx Fire deal, acquisition. T- They had to go about picking which company they wanted to add to their portfolio, but most importantly, how to maintain and grow its finances. Th company introduced was Onyx Fire, a Canadian Fire, Life, Services Company A - The VP, analysts, associates, had to work very hard on the company on analyzing every key segment of the company, including operations, r&d, as well as forecasting, they had to make very detailed decisions R- I found this real interesting, in contrast to my experiences learning about the sell-side which soley focuses on the transaction and not about growing the company itself, and taking the extra step of making that impact.
Which verticals are you most interested in?
Accounting, and Healthcare - My sister, is a researcher at Harvard, and hearing about her breakthroughs in AIDs and HIV and trying to work her way towards empoweing solutions for other sicences, and othe rpeople that work in healthacre is inpsiring to me, and its an industry thats progressing through its research and development and I would love to come to companies within that vertical.
Why the Future Leaders Summit?
Mentorship program designed to uplift females in private equity and finance with students from across the country, and the opportunity to participate in the Future Leaders Summit not only grants me access to these opportunities but allows me to network with others at the company, but my peers in undergrad, and build network, and its greta opporunity to get closer with other females who might be working next to me as well as learning more about Alpine, its opportunities, it culture, and its people.
