A

Renal impairment
thiazide diuretic use
recent initiation of allopurinol (weeks/months).

Note: features are renal and hepatic dysfunction, eosinophilia, vasculitis and mortality is 20-25%

What is Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction?

A

Acute febrile illness with headache, myalgia, chills and rigors starting within 12 hours of the first dose of treatment (usually for syphilis) and resolving within 24 hours.
