Example of an allegory in the New Testament
Galatians - Abraham had 2 sons - one by a slave woman and one by a free born woman - son of slave born naturally - son of freeborn through a promise (these women are 2 covenants) - one bearing a child for slavery, Hagar - one freeborn (Jerusalem) she is our mother
traditionalist believe some language is both
spiritual and allegorical
Some traditionalist don’t see
the literal sense as important, use reason to interpret the Bible, but are also more interested in the inerrancy of the text

understanding and interpretation
