What is direct maternal death?

Death of mom resulting from previous existing disease or disease that devloped during pregnancy that was no due to obstetric causes but was aggravated by physiological effects if pregnancy
Ex - cardiac disease, lupus, rheumatoid, HIV, DM, sickle cell disease
