Come in (verb)
To enter.
Most Common Functions:
- Present Tense, to ask someone to enter.

- Modal Permissions: To ask for permission or to enter.

Can I come in? (Not correct for can, but people say it anyway)
- Modal Suggestion/Advice: To ask for advice about entering.
Should I come in now, or come back later?
- Past tense: To state that you entered somewhere.
Nouf came in to class earlier yesterday than other days.
Go Ahead (verb)
To do something after someone gives permission
To give permission to do something
How to Use:
Go ahead + and + bare infinitive
Go ahead and take the exam.
May + subject + go ahead + and + bare Infinitive
May I go ahead and invite my friend to the party?
Write down (verb)
To write something on paper or another physical surface.
How To Use:
Write something down.
Write your name down on the paper.
Write down something
Please write down 5 things you would like to do.
Get away (verb)
To leave from somewhere
To separate from someone
Function:
- To tell someone to move far from another person.
- To say your plans to leave a place
- To say your plans to leave a person
How to Use:
- Get away + from + personal pronoun or name
Hey, you criminal! Get away from her
- Get away + from + a place
This Christmas I really need to get away from Washington DC. It’s too crowded at that time.

Break down (verb)
- To stop working
- To lose control of your sadness
How To Use:
- Machine + break down + complement
My car broke down on the highway, and now I can’t go home.
- Personal pronoun/name + broke down
Sara broke down and couldn’t stop crying when her mother died.
Get off
To exit a vehicle that you stand to enter (bus, train, plane)
How to Use:

To enter a vehicle that you stand to enter.
