Q

What is a compound?

A

Substances whose molecules contains atoms of different elements. Cannot be separated by ordinary means. Compounds are very different from the elements the make it. Ex: sand, hair, diamond, and carbon dioxide.

Volume and weight lab

A

The volume changed after mixing beads and sand
A. Volume didn’t double because he sand filled the spaces between the beads.=39ml

  1. Weight changed after mixing beads and sand
    A. Adding the weight of the beads to the sand gave us the weight of the mixture. =50 grams
