How many holidays and bank holidays?
20 holidays, , 1 purpose day, 5 choice days, all bank holidays apart from Good Friday (paid for or given back)
How many hours a week? What is it important employees have? How to give back time?
No more than 45 to reduce overtime. A healthy work/ life balance to remain engaged and keep up retention. Half days.
What is a good retention rate ? and control?
75%, aim for 85%. Give time back, use mentor program properly, managers track progression as this also causes less retention.
HR impact on PUA?
-Development, retention all cause good PUA. Training and development contribute to engagement and retention.
-Personal expense of PUA= total salaries/ fleet. is a fixed cost so only impacted by fleet and staff.
-Overtime is on PUA
- Less uninsured losses ( better trained to drive etc).
- Bad debt- less mistakes to cause this e.g proper underwriting
What to do if something inappropriate happens between employees?
1) separate them and maybe send home
2) get written statement from all parties involved
3) involve higher management
Good onboarding practices? and reason why
So retention and development is positively impacted. Call from BM before start, launchpad, scavenger hunt, clean desk. Then non-required extras ( branch meal, put bday in diary etc). Need to do vs nice to do.
Also give plan of training and expectations. E.g stages. Need to know benefits and negatives related to good/ bad performance.
Reviews?
Monthly review, 90 day for new starters, yearly review
SEL uses?
Significant event log, use for negative behaviour e.g late for work, HR involved if repeated.
Day force use?
Full breakdown of work hours, used to reduce overtime and improve, used on phone, launch and computer. Cost control, utilise the 45 hours and try to meet it as near as possible otherwise free money. Prevent burn out.
Employee motivators?
Work life balance, development, days off, lunch breaks
Workday use?
Annual performance review, holds all employee info, like LinkedIn so networking. Enterprise CV, promotion.
