A right technique is obverse and the left techniques is reverse

The forward leg denotes the stance eg. WALKING, LOW, FIXED. If the right leg is forward in walking stance, then this is a RIGHT WALKING STANCE. If neither leg is in front eg ATTENTION, PARALLEL, SITTING. Then the stance is NEITHER LEFT OF RIGHT, therfore techniques are NEITHER REVERSE OR OBVERSE.

The aim in free sparring is to score points. You are using tae kwondo as a sport. The scoring system awards 1 point for a hand technique to middle or high section. 2 points for middle kick and 3 points for high kick. The objective is to only touch your partner without causing any pain or injury. No techniques are allowed below the belt.
Connecting movers…
Is used when a no tension or impact technique is connected to a tension on impact technique. Hooking blocks are no tension impact, these are executed by inhaling through the whole of the block and then exhaling before moving on.

Punches and strikes…
Can be used against hard or soft targets, there aim is to smash, pierce or penetrate, this is achieved by focusing the breathing and the other elements of power to the end of the technique. Both techniques accelerate in a relaxed manner throughout there execution resulting in a dynamic twist with tension.
Thrusts…
Are only used against soft targets. This technique reaches the target under tension and at a constant speed after it’s initial acceleration, exhaling throughout. This means they are effective anywhere on that line.
