Explain the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
Provides security of tenure i.e. if your lease is ‘Inside the Act’ then at expiry you are entitled to a new lease o the same terms as the old lease (with new MR).
- Landlords want Outside Act because they can get possession back / if they want to redevelop property

- Market will slowdown in run up to elections due to uncertainty
- New policies to be introduced if Labour win - permitted development rights (Either requiring affordable housing and greater planning costs)
