A
Formally, the absolute value of a number is the distance between the number and the origin. This is a much more powerful definition than the “makes a negative number positive” idea

A
How close an approximation is to an actual value.

A
The first coordinate in an ordered pair. For the point (8, –2) the abscissa is 8.

Rational Equation & Fractional Equation
A
An equation which has a rational expression on one or both sides of the equal sign. Sometimes rational equations have extraneous solution.
