Algae
A simple non flowering plant of a large group that includes many single celled forms.
Aquatic
Growing or living in/near water.
Endosymbiont Hypothesis
Mitochondria and plastids represent formerly free-living bacteria that were taken inside another cell as an endosymbiont.
Alternation of Generation
The alteration of 2 or more different forms in the life cycle of a plant or animal.
Bloom
Rapid increase/accumulation in the population of algae.
Bioluminescent
Living organisms emitting light.
Diatom
