What was the aim of Russification
To consolidate a Russian identity and loyalty at the empires centre, in order to help prevent the minority of nationalists.
What did Russification do to people in areas like Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine
Forced them to speak the Russian dialect and destroyed their own cultures in order to try to unify the divers empire

Violent attacks on jews by local non jewish people, often encouraged by the Black Hundreds (under control of the state)
