Alarm Details Flashcards
What is a Alarm Point? (31-108, 3.2.6)
Any monitored device (i.e., Balance Magnetic Switch, Passive Infrared, Tamper, Duress, etc.).
What is a Balance Magnetic Switch (BMS)? (31-108, 3.2.7)
Balance Magnetic Switch (BMS). An intrusion detection device typically used on doors and windows that is composed of a two part sensor that generates an alarm condition when a change in the magnetic field is detected.
What is a Passive Infrared (PIR)? (31-108, 3.2.8)
Passive Infrared (PIR). An electronic device that measures infrared light radiating from objects in its field of view.
What is a Duress Button? (31-108, 3.2.9)
A button that, when activated, sends a signal to the ASN indicating someone is in distress.
What is a 24-Hour Alarm Point? (31-108, 3.2.10)
An alarm point active 24-hours a day regardless if the IDS is armed or disarmed (i.e., tamper, duress).
What is a Panel? (31-108, 3.2.11)
The electronic board used in IDS and/or ACS
What is a Partition? (31-108, 3.2.12)
A software grouping of alarm points that arm and disarm collectively.
What is a Buried Line Sensor (BLS)? (31-108, 3.2.17)
Set of sensor electromagnetic cables buried in the ground around the perimeter of a site.
What is a Fiber SenSys? (31-108, 3.2.18)
Sensor cable mounted on a chain-link fence to detect disturbances of the fence such as cutting, climbing, etc.
WHAT IS the process of identifying and reporting unauthorized entry/movement within a protected facility? (31-108, 3.2.1)
Intrusion Detection System (IDS). (31-108, 3.2.1)
What is the process of managing cardholder movement through various portals within a protected facility? (31-108, 3.2.2)
Access Control System (ACS). (31-108, 3.2.2)
