Placing two contrasting terms next to each other to emphasise its relevance

Combining two words that contradict each other

Hyperbole
A seemingly contradictory or illogical statement that is true
Paradox
An explanation by comparison to a different process or concept
Analogy
Words imbued with clear emotional weight
Emotive Language
Words that leave no room for debate
Absolute
When the intention/expectation is contradicted by the result/outcome
Irony
Expressing the opposite of what one means.
Sarcasm
A question that does not require an answer
Rhetoric
Any term that enhances or minimises the meaning of another word
Qualifier
A word that is the most extreme extent of something
Superlative
Casual or informal language that is used to “relate” more to the reader
Colloquial Language
A sentence that repeats a structure
Parallelism
A sentence beginning with an infinitive verb that is a command
Imperative
Words that indicate the possibility of something [we must…. etc]
Modal Verbs
Sentence suggesting the possible future [IF]
Conditional Clauses
Any language that reflects disapproval
