Definition AKI

A
  • Sudden loss of renal function
  • Characterized by rise in BUN and serum creatitine
    AND a decrease in urine volume
  • Rise in serum creat by >0.3 mg/dl within 48 hours
    OR
  • An increase to >/1.5 x the baseline value.
  • Increase in BUN from 15 to 30mg/dl

A decrease in urine volume
<0.5ml/kg/hour over 6 hours OR <400-500ml/24 hours
