AK Fitting Protocol Flashcards
Static socket fitting: Anterior wall assessment
Pressure evenly distributed in femoral triangle
Appropriate relief for rectus femoris
Appropriate relief for adductor longus tendon (channel and flare)
Static socket fitting: Medial wall assessment
Soft tissues contained (avoid adductor roll)
Well defined outward flare (min. 1/2” radius)
Static socket fitting: Lateral wall assessment
Contacts patient proximal to ischial level (no gapping)
Appropriate support along lateral femoral shaft
Relief for distal lateral femur
Static socket fitting: Posterior wall assessment
Coronal: posterior wall or shelf horizontal
Sagittal: slopes slightly distally posterior to anterior
Static socket fitting protocol
Palpate ramus, adductor longus tendon, and IT in socket
Assess brim pressures and tissue containment
Assess distal end contact
Confirm suspension (pull/rotate w/limb relaxed)
Assess standing posture
Lateral displacement test
Draw 3 alignment lines
