For inadequate air exchange

Airway maneuvers AHA:

• Abdominal thrusts
• Use chest thrusts in the obese and pregnant patient

Question 2

If a patient becomes unconscious or is found unconscious

Answer 2

Begin CPR

Question 3

Once obstruction is removed

Answer 3

• High flow O2, ventilate prn

- O2 Saturation prn

Question 4

If patient becomes unconscious or has a decreasing LOC

Answer 4

• Direct airway laryngoscopy and Magill forceps SO, MR prn

- Capnography SO prn

Question 5

Once obstruction is removed

Answer 5

• Monitor EKG

- IV/IO SO adjust prn

Question 6

For a conscious patient:

Answer 6

• Reassurance, encourage coughing

- O2 Sat prn
