Entering a traffic pattern

A

UNCONTROLLED AIRPORT

  1. Fly over the runway at least 500ft. above pattern altitude
  2. observe other aircrafts in the pattern and/or windsock for the direction to be used
  3. after the proper traffic pattern direction has been determined, proceed to a point well clear of the pattern before descending to join the pattern altitude
  4. entry should always be 45 deg with respect to leg to be joined
