Departing a traffic pattern
A
UNCONTROLLED AIRPORT
* depart straight out or with a 45-deg. turn in the direction of the traffic pattern after reaching pattern altitude

Entering a traffic pattern
A
UNCONTROLLED AIRPORT
- Fly over the runway at least 500ft. above pattern altitude
- observe other aircrafts in the pattern and/or windsock for the direction to be used
- after the proper traffic pattern direction has been determined, proceed to a point well clear of the pattern before descending to join the pattern altitude
- entry should always be 45 deg with respect to leg to be joined
