Aircraft engaged in RPT, Charter or aerial work, air ambulance or flying doctor, may operate IFR without an autopilot if:
The aircraft is;
A) Fitted with dual controls, and
B) Carries a second pilot authorised under part 61 to conduct the flight
Can single-pilot RPT, Charter or Air Ambulance or flying doctor operate with a U/s auto-pilot?
RPT - no. Charter and air ambulance or flying doctor - yes, for three days after autopilot becomes unserviceable, if pilot is satisfied it is safe to do so.
Requirements to carry altitude alerting system?
Piston engine aircraft and unpressurised turbine aircraft operated above 15,000ft in CTA.
Requirements for assigned altitude indicators?
Aircraft operated in CTA, unless equipped with altitude alerting system
Instrumentation for aircraft >5,700kg, IFR Charter excluding freight only
2x AH, ASI, 2x ALT, VSI, T&S, DG, Compass, Clock, OAT
