21
Q

When cleared for Take Off what do you do with thrust levers?

A

advance the thrust levers a couple of centimetres, once all engines have spooled up, push the levers forward to the TOGA gate (three clicks).

22
Q

What are the actions at Vr?

A

At Vr, rotate the aircraft to the initial rotation attitude at a rate of 2.5-3 degrees per second.

23
Q

Upon confirmation of positive rate of climb, what should you ask PM to do and what speed should you adjust the pitch to maintain?

A

Once a positive rate of climb has been achieved, call for “gear up”. Adjust the pitch attitude to maintain a speed of V2 + 10 kt to V2 + 25 kt.

24
Q

What is the Acceleration altitude?

A

1000ft above the aerodrome

25
Q

What do you do at Acceleration Altitude?

A

lower the nose to approximately 10 deg and Select climb thrust.

26
Q

How to set climb thrust?

A

Climb thrust is selected by moving the thrust levers rearwards two clicks.

27
Q

What do you do once climb thrust is set?

A

Set the speed bug to 250kts, and allow the aircraft to accelerate, retracting the flaps on schedule, above F speed ask for “Flap 1” and above S speed ask for “Flap 0”. Once the flaps are fully retracted, PM can disarm the spoilers and read the ‘After Take-Off Checklist’ when requested by PF.

28
Q

33
Q

How can rates of descent be increased/ reduced?

A

Rates of descent can be increased using speedbrake, or reduced by the application of thrust.

38
Q

How is minimum clean speed shown on speed tape? And what must you do to reduce below?

A

A green dot. Do not reduce speed below without selecting flap

39
Q

49
Q

When to select gear down on ILS approach, and what should PM do after? What flap setting should be set after?

A

At 1 dot fly-up (or a distance of 2 nm to glidepath intercept for NPAs) select gear down (PM arms the ground spoilers) then select flap 3 and reduce speed towards 160kts.

50
Q

What to do once on the glideslope?

A

Once on the glideslope, select flap full and reduce to the appropriate final speed. Arm the speed brake by pulling the speed brake handle up to reveal a white collar at its base. Call for the ‘Landing Checklist’.

51
Q

How to arm the speed brake?

A

Arm the speed brake by pulling the speed brake handle up to reveal a white collar at its base

52
Q

Actions upon a go-around?

A

Call “go-around, flap 3”, select thrust to takeoff thrust (TOGA/ 3 clicks?) and rotate towards the initial takeoff attitude. When a positive rate of climb is achieved, select landing gear up. Turn FDs off once climbing out using the button(s) on the FCU. The climb out speed should be between the final approach speed, and final approach speed + 25 kt. Acceleration altitude is 1,000 ft above the airfield; accelerate and retract flaps from 3 to 1 above F Speed and then to Zero above S speed. Call for the ‘After Take-off Checklist’.
