Q

What is the ABN/EMER PROCEDURE INITIATION?

A

Procedures are initiated on the pilot flying command.

No action will be taken ( apart from audio warning cancel thru MASTER WARNING light) until:

The appropriate flight path is established, and

The aircraft is at least 400 ft above the runway, if a failure occurs during takeoff, approach, go around.

In some emergency cases, provided the appropriate flight path is established, the pilot flying may initiate actions before this height.

Q

What are indications of a fuel leak?

A

The sum of the FOB and FU is significantly less than FOB at engine start or is decreasing.

Fuel spray is observed from engine/pylon or sharklet

Total fuel quantity is decreasing at an abnormal rate or fuel inbalance

Fuel is smelt in the cabin or EFOB turns to Amber on F.PLN

Q

What do you do after you confirm you have a fuel leak?

A

LAND ASAP

THR LEVER (of effected engine)…….IDLE
ENG MASTER of effected engine…….OFF
FUEL X FEED………….USE AS REQUIRED

If leak continues after engine shutdown, a leak from the wing should be suspected.

ENGINE RESTART…….consider

CAUTION: Do not balance fuel with wing leak. App/land can be done with a full and empty wing.

Q

What is the HYD B+Y SYS LO PR SUMMARY for cruise, approach, land and Go around?

A

CRUISE-Max speed is 320/.77M/ maneuver with care/ N LAW

APP-CAT 2 INOP/ Slats slow/Flaps slow/ LG gravity ext, lever Dn

Land-only 1 ELEV and 2 spoilers per wing/ no Nosewheel steering

Go-AROUND-no gear retraction and increased fuel consumption

18
Q

What is the HYD G+B SYS LO PR SUMMARY for cruise, approach, land and Go around?

A

Cruise-SPD BRK don’t use/MAX speed 320/.77m/ALT LAW lost

Approach-CAT2 INOP/ slats jammed/flaps slow/ATR OFF/ USE FLAP3 for landing/LG gravity extend when speed 200K/LG down/ for flap extension use SPD SEL…VFE NEXT -5K/ slow to VAPP

20
Q

What can cause a DU (Display Unit) to fail or flash intermittently?

A

It may be due to intermittent electrical power supply interruptions such as a flashing PFD, ND, ECAM DUs or MCDU.

If it is on the CPTs side, turn OFF GEN 1. Keep it off if DUs stop flashing. Turn the GEN 1 back ON if DU keeps flashing.

Same process for the right side DUs using the GEN 2.

21
Q

What do you do if you have LOSS OF BRAKING?

A
