Safety Start
- Pull Knob
- Push Clutch
- Shifter in Neutral
- Start Engine
- Release Clutch
- Say ABS Light On & Off
Governor Cut Out
Between 120-140 PSI - Help With Throttle
Leak Down Check
- Put In 1st Gear
- Turn Off Engine
- Back One Click
- Push in Air Knobs
- Let Air Stabilize
“Now that my air is stable, I will fully apply the service brake and make sure that my air loss does not exceed 4PSI in one minute.”
Low Air Warning Check
“ I will now perform a low air warning check. I will fan my service brake until the alarm activates at 55PSI or above.”
Parking Brake & Tractor Protection Valve Check
“I will now perform a parking brake & tractor protection valve check. I will continue to fan the service brake until both my parking brake and tractor protection valve pop out between 20-45psi”
In Cab Inspection
I will begin with a safety start:
- Set Brakes
- Press clutch
- Shifter in Neutral
- Start Engine
- Release Clutch
“ABS light came on and off”
Seat Belt
- Securely Mounted
- Latches & Unlatches Properly
- Properly Adjusted To Me
- No Rips or Frays

- Wipers Are Working
- Arms & Blades are Secure
- There is no damage
- Operate Smoothly
- Washer Fluid is Working Properly
Heater / Defroster
- My Heater is Working
- My Defroster is Working
Dashboard Indicator Lights
- Dash Illuminates
- Left Turn Signal
- Right Turn Signal
- 4 Way Signal

Horns
- My Electric Horn Works

Parking & Service Brake Check: Tractor
“I will now perform my parking and service brake check.”
“To check my Tractor Parking Brake, I will:
1. First Gear
2. Push YELLOW IN
3. Pull gently against tractor brake
4. Apply service brake
“My tractor parking brake is working properly.”
Parking & Service Brake Check: Trailer
“To check my Trailer Parking Brake, I will:
1. PULL YELLOW OUT
2. PUSH RED IN
3. Pull gently against TRAILER brake
4. Apply service brake
“My TRAILER parking brake is working properly.”
Parking & Service Brake Check: Service
“To check my Service Brake, I will:
1. PUSH BOTH KNOBS IN
2. Pull forward gently 8-10 feet
3. Release steering wheel
4. Apply service brake
“The truck did not pull to either side and stopped when the service brake is applied. My service brakes are working properly.”
