What is FOD
Any material which originates from any source, either external or part of an aircraft which can cause damage to an aircraft or it’s equipment either on the ground or in the air

What is an accident
An occurrence which results in a person being killed of suffering a major injury, or an aircraft sustaining CAT 4 or 5 damage

What is Cat 1 damage?
Repairable within custodians capabilities (on pan, 1st line)
What is Cat 2 damage?
Repairable with the custodians forward maimtainance organisation capabilities (in hanger, 2nd line)
What is Cat 3 damage?
Repairable on site, beyond forward maimtainance achievable by repair organisation (someone has to come in)
What is Cat 4 damage?
Repairable, but requires specialist facilities off-site
What is Cat 5 damage?
Fucked. Beyond economic repair, instructional use, scrap or missing
What is reporting culture?
Cultivating an atmosphere where people have the confidence to report safety concerns without feat of blame
