Define Aim
A statement about the purpose of an investigation.
Define Hypothesis
A precise, testable statement about the predicted outcome of the investigation.
State the four types of hypothesis.
Alternative, Null, Directional, Non-Directional
What is an alternative hypothesis?
The alternative hypothesis states that there is a significant difference between two conditions, or a significant relationship between two variables.
What is a null hypothesis?
The null hypothesis states that there is no relationship between two variables.
What is a directional hypothesis?
A prediction that states the direction of any correlation between two variables.
What is a non-directional hypothesis?
A prediction which states that there will be a difference between two conditions. Does not state which direction the difference goes to.
