Ai Part 1 Flashcards
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
AI is when computers do tasks that normally need human thinking, like understanding speech or recognising photos. Example: ChatGPT chatting like a human.
What is Data in AI?
Data is information AI uses to learn or make decisions. Example: Spotify uses your listening history to suggest music.
What is Machine Learning?
Machine learning is when computers learn from data instead of being given exact instructions. Example: Gmail learning what emails to send to your spam folder.
What is an Algorithm?
An algorithm is a list of steps a computer follows to solve a problem. Example: Instagram’s feed algorithm decides what posts you see first.
What is an API?
An API lets different software systems talk to each other and share information. Example: Uber using Google Maps through an API.
What is an SDK?
An SDK is a toolkit developers use to build apps or software. Example: Game developers using Unity SDK to create mobile games.
What is Deep Learning?
Deep learning is a type of machine learning that uses lots of data and layers to solve harder problems. Example: Facebook recognising your friends in photos.
What is Input in AI?
Input is the information given to an AI system. Example: You ask a chatbot a question.
What is Output in AI?
Output is the answer or result the AI gives after processing the input. Example: The chatbot gives you a helpful reply.
What is Training Data?
Training data is the information used to teach an AI model how to do a task. Example: Emails marked as spam and not spam to teach a spam filter.
What is Bias in AI?
Bias is when AI makes unfair decisions because of patterns in the data it was trained on. Example: An AI tool preferring certain CVs due to biased training.
What is Natural Language Processing (NLP)?
NLP helps computers understand and respond to human language. Example: Siri understanding your voice commands.
What is Automation in AI?
Automation means using AI to do tasks without a person controlling it. Example: AI automatically tagging people in Facebook photos.
What is a Dataset?
A dataset is a collection of data used to train or test AI. Example: A list of house prices and features used to train a pricing model.
What is a Prediction in AI?
A prediction is the AI’s best guess based on what it has learned. Example: Amazon predicting what you might want to buy next.
Example: AI in daily life
Netflix suggesting shows you might like based on what you’ve watched.
Example: Machine Learning
Google Maps learning from traffic patterns to suggest faster routes.
Example: API
A weather app showing Google Maps using Google’s API.
Example: SDK
Developers using Apple’s SDK to make iPhone apps.
Example: AI Automation
Chatbots answering customer service questions.
Example: NLP
Siri understanding what you say and replying.
Example: Algorithm in business
Amazon showing you products based on what you’ve looked at.
Example: AI Bias
A hiring tool preferring certain CVs unfairly because of biased training data.
What is the goal of AI?
To help computers do smart tasks like a human would. Example: Self-driving cars reacting to road signs and other vehicles.
