Q

For arable land, how have you advised on crop rotations, cultivations, crop husbandry and marketing of products?

A

Whilst in my role I have advised my clients on potential crop rotations in respect of utility and infrastructure works, I have have advised on the types of crops farmers may include within their rotations to assist with compensation estimates for projects with extended programmes. I have advised my clients regarding the correct management of working areas so as to limit impact on crops, focusing on topsoil and weed management, timing of works and reinstatement of agricultural land, cultivation etc.

Q

What is a grazing licence and where is it used?

A

Grazing licences are typically short term agreements with no rights of renewal that allow a grazier access onto another’s land to graze their animals. They essentially allow the landowner to sell the grass that’s growing without granting the grazier rights to exclusive possession of the land.
