Importance of Agricultural Sector in National
Development
It mandates the redistribution of agricultural land to
farmers who do not own the land they are working on.
● It aims to pursue equitable ownership of land for landless
farmers.
● It is implemented by the Department of Agrarian Reform.
Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law 1988 (RA 6657)
It is based on accessibility and convenience of credit,
lower interest rates, increase in credit delivery channels,
and guarantee sustainability of credit.
● A borrower may secure a loan up to 150,000 (6% I.R.)

It limits the amount of foreign agricultural products

of the Philippines.
● It issues fishing vessel licenses, conducts fishing
agreements with other countries, researches on fishery
development, etc.
