ROS Antioxidant defenses
A
Superoxide anion radical -> superoxide dismutase -> h2o2
h2o2 -> catalase -> water
h2o2 + reduced glutathione -> glutathione peroxidase -> water + oxidized glutathione
Imbalance between production / removal of ROS = major cause of aging.
