How does operant conditioning apply to aggression?
A
- There may be positive reinforcement in some way
- It’s more successful if there is no rewarding pattern- rewards are unexpected

- Something physical
- E.g. Money, Sex, Food

- Something that is implied
- E.g. Social status

A
- Using vicarious reinforcement
- If a model is rewarded for using aggression, they are more likely to imitate it

- Research so that we can better introduce policies to reduce aggression in young people

- Aggressive boys become friends
- This is known as a training ground for antisocial behaviour

- Not all aggression is learned
- It can’t explain hostile aggression very well
- Acts of hostile aggression are often punished, so why do they still happen?
