General Agency
They represent the principal in all matters, or at least majority of them
Specific agency
They only have limited authority to act on behalf of the principal

Specific means only that one part if outside that then they are liable

If what is said by the principal is ambiguous then can’t be held liable

Can delegate some tasks if within bounds of normal trade

Can’t borrow money on behalf of principal even if general agent
Acting without authority?
Then principal could potentially ratify the deal if it is a good one but;
Needs to be done timely
Express or implied from contract
Effective as at the date of the agents act
Only valid when principal is named or at least made identifiable
