How can heaven be described?
A parallel realm where everything operates according to God’s will. Heaven is a place of peace, love, community, and worship, where God is surrounded by a heavenly court and other heavenly beings.
How can hell be described?
“Gehenna” in the New Testament, where it is described as a place where both soul and body could be destroyed.
What is judgment?
The belief that God will judge humanity on their beliefs and actions.
Why don’t all Christians believe in purgatory
Protestants usually don’t, based on their doctrine of sola scriptura.
Resurrection
Jesus came back to life after death, this leads Christians to believe he will come back.
What parable can be used to describe Judgment?
The Parable of the Sheep and Goats - Matthew 25:31–46
Why is Jesus likened to a shepherd in the sheep and goats parable?
To highlight the love and concern that a shepherd has for his sheep, which emphasized God’s love and care for His followers.
Why do some Christians reject cremation?
It was seen as a sacrilegious act towards Christians and God.
What do Christians believe happens to our bodies after death?
Everybody will be raised up in a physical state on a new Earth.
Why is Jesus resurrection so important in relation to the afterlife?
These Christians believe that his crucifixion and his resurrection meant that there is the possibility of eternal life for all human beings who are judged to be good.
