book 1 key events
-juno angry about carthage prophecy
-aeneas reminds his men of their strength after the storm
-venus appears to aeneas and tells him about dido, tells him to go see her
-aeneas men go to her court
-cupid disguised as ascanius makes dido fall in love with aeneas
book 2
-aeneas tells dido his struggles
-troy story about sinon and the trojan horse
-the death of priam and then he goes home and then Venus tells him to leave but he refuses
-fire omen concinces him to leave carrying his father and his wife creusa dies
-a group of poeple are wasiting for him to lead them awsay
book 3
-aneas prepares sacrifices and a tree talks to him (its the spirit of priams son) saying he wants a funeral so they do that
-they go to crete and then get plague turns out they need to go to italy
-get attacked by harpies who propheise that they wont establish their city till they eat their tables
-they go to cyclops island and then eventually his dad dies
book 4
dido begins to negelect carthage as she loves aeneas
the two consumate yay as venus’ idea to get juno to leave aweneas alone
mercury tells aeneas to leave and he says ok
dido starts to make her funeral pyre
she falls on a sword as the men leave
book 5
games for his dead father, nisus and euryalus story with the race cheating
book 6
-aeneas to cumae to see the sibyl of apollo
-warning of latium war and harship
-needs to go to the underworld but first to get the golden bough
-then in underowlr he sees dido
-caratgory of heroes (augustus will start a new golden age)
book 7
-get to latium and they are eating their tables
-king latinus offers his daughters hand in marriage
-juno sends allecto to make all the latins and amata to get angry
-scanius shoots the sacred stag
-turnus gets an army in response
book 8
river god tiberinus tells him to make friends with the arcadians who say yess yay
-venus is worried tso gets vulcan to mak ehim a sheild yess
book 9
-turnus sets fire to ships
-nisus and euryalis story
-lots of fighting
book 10
-pallas is killed by turnus and takes his belt
-aeneas is angry and kills people who were begging for forgiveness
-turnus on a boat chasing aeneas
